If your role calls for safety toe protection, composite isn't a compromise - it's an upgrade. Our composite toe safety shoes offer the same 200-joule protection as steel, but are lightweight and non-metallic. Built for roles where protection, comfort and passing through security screening without stopping all matter in equal measure.
Composite Toe Cap Shoes
We carry composite toe safety shoes and boots across a range of styles - from low-profile everyday shoes through to mid and high-cut boots - all certified to EN ISO 20345.
Our composite and nanocomposite toe caps are rated the same 200-joule impact threshold as steel, but they weigh considerably less. That sounds like a small detail until you're at the end of a long shift. Several pairs are also fully non-metallic, which means you can walk through hospital, airport or site security without stopping to take your shoes off.
Beyond the toe, the collection is built for demanding environments. Puncture-resistant midsoles guard against sharp objects underfoot. TripGuard™ stops the toe catching when you move between different floor surfaces. Select pairs include ESD properties for environments where static discharge is a concern, and several are fully waterproof for roles that take you outside or into wet conditions.

Are composite toe caps as protective as steel toe caps?
Yes. Our composite and nanocomposite toe caps are independently tested and certified to withstand 200-joule impacts under EN ISO 20345 - the same threshold as steel. The difference is material and weight, not protection level. Composite and nanocomposite caps are non-metallic, lighter, and won't trigger metal detectors.
What's the difference between a composite toe and a nanocomposite toe cap?
Composite toe caps are made from non-metallic materials such as carbon fibre or reinforced plastic, rated to 200 joules under EN ISO 20345. Nanocomposite takes that further - a more advanced compound that delivers the same protection in a thinner, lighter cap. In practice, the protection level is the same, though nanocomposite tends to result in a slimmer, lighter shoe overall.
Are these composite toe safety shoes comfortable for long shifts?
Absolutely. These shoes are designed for long-shift comfort. They combine lightweight protection with high-rebound EVA cushioning. And because they're far more lightweight than steel-toe shoes, they help to ease cumulative leg and joint strain across the workday. Plus, many feature removable, cushioned insoles that provide arch support and can be easily swapped for custom orthotics.
Are these suitable for warehouse and logistics roles?
Yes. Several pairs are specifically suited to warehouse and logistics environments, featuring nanocomposite toe protection, puncture-resistant midsoles and clog-resistant outsoles. TripGuard™ is available across a number of pairs to prevent the toe catching when you move quickly between surfaces. Browse our slip-resistant warehouse shoes for more options.
Can I use my own orthopedic insoles with these shoes?
Yes, most of our composite toe safety shoes feature removable insoles, making them fully compatible with custom orthotics or specialised arch-support inserts without sacrificing safety or fit.
